JOONAS BERGHÄLL – PRODUCER

Joonas Berghäll was born in 1977 in Kemi. He studied film producing at Tampere University of Applied Sciences, School of Art and Media between the years of 2000-2005. He has been involved in film making since 1998, and he currently works as a film producer and owner of the production company Oktober. Documentary films The Smoking Room, A Shout into the Wind, Steam of Life and Canned Dreams, produced by Berghäll, were awarded the State Quality Support for cinema productions in Finland in 2007, 2008, 2010 and 2012. Besides producing, Joonas also directs films. His latest film is Mother’s Wish (2015), and in addition to this he has also directed the critically acclaimed documentary film Steam of Life (2010).
